ECR 2025 Vienna: The Heart Sculpture

A suspended heart at the centre of Planet Radiology. For the European Congress of Radiology 2025 in Vienna, Austria, Valua created a collection of five sculptural figures commissioned by the European Society of Radiology.

A heart suspended above Vienna’s congress floor.

The heart was the central piece of Valua’s decoration for ECR 2025 in Vienna. Suspended in the main lobby, it combined a white sculptural body with tree-root forms and chrome-finished veins, connecting the human body with the congress theme, Planet Radiology.

Placing the heart overhead made its form visible within the congress space. It is a reference for creative teams looking to introduce a custom sculptural focal point into an exhibition or professional event.

From printed form to sculptural finish.

The heart was 3D printed, sanded and coated with polyurea. Its white surface and chrome-finished details formed part of the visual language of the collection.

Alongside the heart, Valua produced a puma, a hummingbird, a deer and an oyster. Together, the five figures linked anatomical and natural references within the congress decoration.

The heart leads this case study because it captures the combination of custom fabrication, scale and spatial placement behind the project.
